My clients and seminar guests always ask me, “Georgette, how can I be positive all the time? That isn’t realistic!” I agree, but there are significant benefits to shifting your attention and energy to the positive people and situations in your life.
When you consistently focus on the positive in your life, you feel better. When you feel better, a lot of the people and situations that used to irritate you or upset you, won’t bother you anymore. When you feel great, you worry less. This will be amazing because it frees up your time and energy, so you can pursue your creativity, your dreams, or anything else you’d like to attract in your life.
Another great benefit of shifting your attention and energy to all the positive aspects of your life, is when you feel good, you set better boundaries with people. When someone asks you a favor – such as a drive to the airport on a Friday night – in the past, you would’ve felt uncomfortable letting your friend down, even if it meant you were miserable, resentful and angry wasting your Friday night doing something you really don’t want to do. When you feel good, your first instinct will be to say, “No, I’m not available.” Another great benefit – when you feel good, you can say this without rolling your eyes or mumbling. Your facial expressions, body language and tone of voice will be neutral, so your friend won’t react negatively when you say no. The person will say, “Okay,” and find another friend who can take the drive to the airport.
Focusing on the positive in my life, has changed everything for me. I have wonderful relationships, and I experience abundance is so many areas of my life.
