Don’t be too hard on yourself if you are struggling right now. So many are feeling the same way. We are stuck in the house and the uncertainty is overwhelming. It’s also not normal to spend so much time with our loved ones. One of my favorite sayings is, “I love chocolate, but I don’t want to eat it seven days a week, 24 hours a day!” It’s natural if you are feeling irritated, annoyed, exhausted, overwhelmed and/or angry with the people in your house.
As much as I’ve worked on my personal development and believe that my self-help books have inspired and motivated people, even I’m struggling at times with this quarantine! But I have enough personal growth to understand that if I feel any negative emotions, it’s a calling for me to take on a new life lesson. As much as I’ve worked through my depression and anxiety, this quarantine has brought forth in me that I still have work to do. I have had to dig deep and find patience to manage my irritability. And this has become a daily practice for me. I’m also being very gentle with myself. I’m reading more, relaxing more, and this has helped ease any negative emotions I’m experiencing.
Give yourself a break. Take a deep breath. Appreciate what you do have. Make plans for your future and visualize what you would like your life to look like after this quarantine.
